The Chennakesava temple is located close to the Kedareshwara temple in Nagalapura village. Ramachandran took us to this temple as the other person who takes care of the temple had his weekly off. The the carvings on the outer walls are mostly gone. Only few sculptures remain.
The interior of the temple was bit more intact. The idol of Lord Vishnu was looking beautiful.
The ceiling of the mantapa has the trademark flower patterns. The nine bay has nine different floral designs on the ceiling.
The four lathe turned pillars support the mantapa roof.
The sculptures what ever remains also was mostly defaced.
Lord Narasimha killing Hiranyakashipu.

Another lesser known Hoysala temple to see if interested in ancient architecture.
