We directly reached guruvayur temple from Kochin. We reached around 7:30 AM. Parked the vehicle and stood in queue aroun 8 AM. The queue management was bit different here. There were around 10 lines and each line will be opened in order. We were in fourth line. We waited more than 45 minutes and then went inside the temple. The waiting area had two huge ceiling fans never have seen anything like that before. The weather was pleasant as we had reached early else generally it will be hot in guruvayur. It seems the temple was less crowded because of the cab strike. Lucky for us we had a nice darshan and came back out around 9:30. We had breakfast in one of the brahmins tiffen center. The food was good but i missed out eating appam and konda kadalai. Only when i finished dosa i saw they had appam. We did shopping in the shops in front of the temple. There are many shops selling kerala saree, we got one for shilpi. We then went to see hotel and checked into the room. Guruvayur resort was the hotel. The place was not crowded, the bed was clean, bathroom was just ok. We then left to the punnathurkotta elephant camp. It was a nice place as we saw the huge animal very close. They strictly do not allow any photos which was bit disappointing. Its open from 9 AM to 5 PM. We saw the mahout giving bath to an elephant. The huge mammal was lying side wise and he was scrubbing it with coconut fiber. We touched the elephant, the skin was too tough. Couple of other elephants were pouring water on itself to keep themselves cool. Few elephants had injuries and may that is the reason no pics were allowed. On the way to elephant camp we visited Mammiyur sri mahadeva temple. I could not enter inside as i was not aware we are visiting a temple so had come in shorts. Others went inside and got the blessings or lord Shiva. After the elephant camp we wanted to have lunch. Gopi said the food in the temple is very good so why dont you eat there. We said ok fine and went to the temple. There was a very long queue and we were hesitant that it might take lot of time. How ever to our surprise the line moved fast as the hall was very big and more than 500 people can be seated at a time. Gopi gave his spare dhoti as i cannot enter in with shorts. The lunch was my favorite morkozhabhu and i enjoyed the food. It was too hot by then and we decided to go back to the room. We slept for a while and in evening walked to the temple area. That is when i clicked few pics in front of the temple. We had food in another Bramhin tiffen center. We went back to the room after buying some snacks.

Few pics from the temple.
