After visiting Undavalli caves and Kanaka Durga temple in vijayawada we left for Odisha on 24th. We reached Gopalpur around 4:30 PM and checked into Panthanivas. The beach was very quiet and clean. There were only handful of people and mostly the guests from panthanivas and mayfair nearby. Panthanivas run by OTDC was fairly clean. We had access to beach from the hotel. Gopalpur was one of the important port during the British rule.
The path to the beach from the hotel.
Pristine beach for ourselves.
We spent about an hour and thoroughly enjoyed playing in water.
Small crabs started coming out of the sand the moment it became dark.
View of lighthouse. The best part of the stay after the beach was the food. We had phulka, panner curry and fried rice. The rice was not great but the phulka and panner was too good.
Our first day in Odisha begun with a positive note.
