At one end of the van vihar national park is the Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Manav Sangrahalaya. Its also called National Museum of Mankind. Its set on the shyamla hills in Bhopal. The Museum exhibits various tribal cultures from the Indian states. There are few open exhibits and few indoor ones. The veethi sankul is one of the important indoor exhibition. There is also a reference library. As always i (and others too) was not much interested in museums. We skipped few sections and reached Veethi sankul. This section had the exhibits of tribal culture from various places. This was bit interesting than others.

Some pictures from the visit.

Exhibit of different types of lamps.

Some clay art.

Aal-Vilakku with 1001 wicks and weighing 1830 Kgs.

Rabari, Kutch Gujarat.

Dewar, Chhattisgarh.

Masks exhibit.

Sugarcane crusher in the traditional technology park.

Its a nice place but for people like us we would give it a miss for other attractions in Bhopal.
